Hillarys, the UK’s largest blinds, curtains and shutters manufacturer has earned this primary position in the market by delivering highly effective marketing activity direct to customer for over 45 years.

Challenge

Producing in excess of 80 million printed items at York per year, the 8 page broadsheet is the flagship Door Drop media channel, with 3 versions being produced every 2 weeks. Owing to the scale of the campaign it is vitally important that everything goes to plan. There is no room for error, as this would have a huge detrimental impact on sales.

Solution

York has a combination of both long and short grain presses, which are configured specifically to enable the economical production of long print runs with minimum waste.

The Pindar presses provide an important back up resource should there be any unforeseen problems at the York site.

Results

Hillarys can plan their key marketing campaigns in the knowledge that they will be delivered on time and to the highest specification. Trials of alternative formats are periodically run to compare against the success of the broadsheet and to ensure it is still achieving the optimum impact in the market.
